The mission of the Hobby School of Public Affairs Alumni Association is to serve and support the improvement of public affairs practice and research by connecting Hobby School alumni with a community of like-minded professionals who help develop and explore talents, while challenging successful Hobby School alumni to foster this community among ourselves as mentors, organizational leaders, and donors.

Join the University of Houston Hobby School Alumni Association as professor, legal scholar and author Anita Hill will delivers the 2023 Elizabeth D. Rockwell Distinguished Lecture on Ethics and Leadership for the Hobby School of Public Affairs on Thursday, October 5 at 6 p.m. in the Rockwell Pavilion at MD Anderson Library. Group photo will be taken at the conclusion of the event. Members of the alumni association will head to the Den following the event. Join the University of Houston Hobby School of Public Affairs Alumni (and MPA Alumni) Association at the Houston Food Bank for its fall service project at the Houston Food Bank. The team will be assigned at the Community Resource Center, which provides a minimal to no contact distribution opportunity through curbside pick-up to community members in the evenings. Individuals have the opportunity to select an appointment time and items that best fit their household needs. Volunteers will assist with delivering custom curbside orders to participants’ vehicles. Join the University of Houston’s MPA/Hobby School Alumni at the Kinder Institute Forum as it hosts US Census Director Robert L. Santos. His career spans more than 40 years in survey research, statistical design and analysis. He has worked across a wide range of policy areas including education, health, immigration, environmental issues and housing.
Santos will be in conversation with Kinder Institute Director Ruth N. López Turley about leveraging data to advance equity and diversity, lessons learned from the 2020 census, and plans to reach historically undercounted communities in 2030.
