Supporting The University Of Houston

About UH Alumni Association Foundation Advocacy

Greetings Cougars. Thank you for finding our University of Houston Alumni Association Foundation advocacy page. As you know, as an official support organization for the University of Houston we have several tasks under our purview. We gather alumni around engagement activities, we gather alumni in our affiliated alumni Associations, we advise on behalf of the alumni relations program, and as needed, help with the advocacy of any legislative issues that may be facing the state of Texas, and affecting the University Of Houston.

Each legislative year the UH puts forth the legislative agenda that is important to its goals and missions. As you may know, the university is striving to be a top 50 public institution in the United States, and to that end, depends on major higher education legislation to meet some of those goals. In this tab, you’ll find the legislative bills that affect some of the most important topics in higher education. Those could deal with faculty, tenure, hiring practices, compliance reviews, formula funding, capital improvements, programmatic changes and other issues that directly affect the operations and success of the university. In this tab, we have the Senate bills and House bills that are most important and our focus of the University.
